PDF uploads have been enabled! For those who need it or who want to quickly reference it, here is a copy of The Holy Qur'an interpreted in English by Talal Itani.
If you wish to post different interpretations in English or in other languages, you may post them here. The PDF size limit is 30MB - I cannot change that.
This board is the 9chan Masjid and should be treated as such. It is a place for Muslims to gather and discuss Islam, Qur'an, the Sunnah, theology, eschatology, prayer, worship, and Muslim life. It is not intended as a place where Muslims must defend themselves or their religion from outsiders. If you would not do it in a real mosque in the real world, then don't do it here.
Controversial topics of discussion are permitted, but deliberate trolling/baiting and personal attacks will not be tolerated. /pol/-like behavior can stay on /pol/.
ATTACK THE ARGUMENT, NOT THE POSTER
For the purposes of this board, and until otherwise proven absolutely haram, tasteful non-lewd images of people, nature, and animals will be allowed.
We are not for the comparison of the various world's religions. There are many, many other boards for that. Use them.

I've been reading the Qur'an (pic related) for the last month or so, and I thought it'd be a good idea to post which chapter I am on together with the lines I thought to be inspiring or confusing.
I would love it if other anons could join me and also post certain parts of the Qur'an they enjoy(ed) reading, and maybe we can discuss about it's contents together.
I'll try to post daily, but real life is a pain sometimes so I can't promise anything.

Salamalakum, followers. In these times of worldwide cooperation, I hope, we can touch base on a touchy subject for, perhaps, many a Muslim. My aim here is to get some opinions on the matter of accepting those of non-traditional sexual orientation and trans people into the Muslim community. So what are yours?
This thread is for all those questions that don't require greater discussion. This OP should be edited from time to time to reflect frequently asked questions. Many such questions can be answered by a simple Google search, but many people prefer the opinion of other IB users. Any threads made that have a simple or obvious answer will be redirected to this thread.
Muslims, why do you beat your female family members? Why do you kill rape victims and not the rapist? Why must they wear long clothes to find their bodies from lustful men, but men aren't punished for thinking those thoughts? Is it true divorced women are seen as lower than dogs? What did women do to deserve such treatment? Is it Islam or is it culture?
There are numerous ahadith in which the Prophet (saws) prohibited images of living creatures and said that the one who makes such images will be punished in the most severe manner.
However in this world we live in, images are all around us; we see images almost everywhere we look and they're almost unavoidable. We are even posting on an imageboard.
Even in my own household, I wasn't even previously aware of just how many things have images on them. Bowls, cups, plates, book covers, product packaging, clothes, greeting cards, furniture, toys… and many, many more things.
I'm very torn and worried about this problem, since there doesn't seem to be an easy solution or an easy way to get rid of all these things. I don't want Allah ta'aala to punish us for falling short of what the Messenger (saws) ordered us to do… I hope He will forgive us.
Assalamu Alaikum my brothers and Ramadan Mubarak.
I was arguing with a christian acquaintance of mine about the trinity and found myself at an end point because of lack of knowledge about Islam AND christianity, hope you can help me.
<<The difficulty comes from the fact that the trinity as mentioned and described in the Quran is completely different from what us christians believe. In fact, Quran talks about Allah, Eesa and Maryam (5.116) but never did christians say that! I think there is a huge misunderstanding of the christian doctrine
For christians, the st trinity is a great mystery but it's not hard at all to prove that it's neither absurd nor contradictary
The problem that you(me) mentioned about paternity(Father/ Son of God) can be found here as well. The Quran attributes to the christians a doctrine that they never believed in: a physical fleshly conception (112.3), which is of course impossible for God.>>
We need banners. Post 'em if you got 'em. Nothing offensive, racist, spiteful, or hateful. I have no idea what the limitations are, but post rectangular stuff and I'll edit them if needed. If you don't know what a "rectangle" is, then I suggest remedial geometry instead of spending your time here.
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته وسلام على المرسلين والحمد لله رب العالمين أما بعد
Two great resources that'll take you quite far. They're aimed at someone who knows the Arabic script but not anything else. After these you should be at a level where you can start studying Arabic in Arabic.
- Madinah series, which is used at the Islamic University in Madinah and very beginner friendly(as said above you just need to know the alphabet). It consists of three textbooks in Arabic, along with three in English explaining the grammar of each lesson, and an answer key. There's also a lot of complementary material in form of grammar summaries etc. Everything can be found for free(no copyright) at
- Simplified Arabic by Arthur Upson. Another great book available free(copyright expired). It's layed out in terms of 200 chapters each accompanied by translation exercises with answer keys. Ideal for self studying. It can be found at
